Like all major cities in the world, buildings in Los Angeles are designed to accommodate visitors with limited mobility handicaps and other disabilities. Accessible facilities have been provided for such a long time (ever since the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973) that they are now considered to be part of a normal building design. Therefore many tourist attractions and other places you will visit might not include basic accessibility information on their website, since it is expected to be there. By law, all business in Los Angeles offer wheelchair ramps, handicapped parking, door openers and other amenities to ensure access for all. The intent of this guide is to provide easy access to accessibility pages for L.A. attractions, as well as tips based on observations.
