Marvin Braude Bike Path is a coastal bike path that passes through Marina del Rey and allows you to safely travel around the harbor on bicycle. You can use it to go to Venice Beach and then northbound past the Santa Monica Pier to Pacific Palisades. The guest rooms are comfortable and beautifully appointed, each with a balcony or patio offering a picturesque view. The Marina International Hotel is located within a five-minute walk from Mothers Beach. The hotel is next to the Marina grill and bar restaurant, and a few steps away from a bicycle rental shop. The hotel is very close to the Marvin Braude bike path. You can ride to Venice Beach by bicycle in less than five minutes, or walk there in about 10-15 minutes. Shops, cafes and restaurants can be found on Abbot Kinney Blvd, also within walking distance. Directly outside the hotel is a bus stop for the free Marina del Rey beach shuttle that runs on weekends. Marina International Hotel is a great option for affordable accommodations in Marina del Rey. It's a nice hotel, although not as large as its neighbors Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton, and offers limited views of the marina compared to the more expensive hotels nearby. You can easily ride from the hotel to Venice Beach Boardwalk and Santa Monica Pier on the Marvin Braude Bike Path.
Marina Beach Park has shaded picnic tables and is adjacent to Mothers Beach, a peaceful lagoon with a swimming area that has no waves, a sandy beach, a lifeguard stand and a small playground. It's perfect for small kids to play in the water, and for adults to enjoy the sun on the beach. The park and beach are within easy walking distance from the Marriott and Marina International Hotel, or about a five to 10-minute walk from the Ritz-Carlton. Marriott Marina del Rey ($$ to $$$) is a full-service hotel overlooking the marina. The location and stature of the building afford panoramic views of Marina del Rey harbor, the Santa Monica mountains, beaches and the Pacific Ocean. The Marriott is located across the street from Marina Beach Park and Mothers Beach. The walk on Washington Blvd to Venice Beach is only about ten minutes. There are restaurants on-site, within walking distance or within a few minutes drive. Onsite dining options include Stones Restaurant (casual, breakfast and dinner), The Lobby Bar (casual, lunch and dinner) and the popular Glow Lounge (an upscale outdoor lounge, open for lunch, dinner and evening entertainment). The Cheesecake Factory restaurant next to the marina at Mothers Beach, is within easy walking distance. C & O Trattoria, serving great Italian food near Venice Beach is also an easy walk away.

These hotel are located in the northern section of Marina del Rey. This area is closer to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) than the beach hotels (above). During times of heavy traffic your commute to or from LAX will be considerably faster than if you stay at a hotel closer to the ocean (due to congestion on Washington Blvd). The closer you stay to Lincoln Blvd, the sooner you can get to the airport.
Hotel MdR Marina del Rey ($$) is not on the beach, however it is very conveniently located to both Marina del Rey Harbor, LAX and Loyola Marymount University. The Hotel MdR Marina del Rey is located near the 90 Marina Freeway that goes straight to Culver City and the 405 freeway. You can get to either Fisherman's Village or Venice Beach in about 5-10 minutes by car. The rooms here are nice, the rates are affordable for the area, plus the hotel offers free high-speed internet and free parking, which is rare in this area.
